The fifth edition of the 2018 College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings was released Tuesday on ESPN, and Alabama was ranked No. 1 in the now-weekly poll for a fifth consecutive week.  The Crimson Tide (12-0, 8-0 SEC) topped the rankings, followed by No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Notre Dame and -- with Michigan losing to Ohio State this past weekend -- No. 4 Georgia. Oklahoma and Ohio State round out the top six. Eight SEC teams are ranked in the top 25, which is a CFP record, and Alabama has wins over four of them. The Tide could make it five this weekend. Alabama is the only team in the nation that has appeared in all four College Football Playoffs and has won two of the last three championships. Ohio State and Clemson went on to win in 2014 and 2016 after defeating the Crimson Tide in the semifinals and title game, respectively.
